Download Defaults
Download defaults aid in processing the incoming downloads to minimize the number of exceptions. For example, if a download comes in that does not have a branch designation, the default branch set up on this tab will be used.
To Set Up Download Defaults
- On the Utility menu, click SETUP. The Setup Console is displayed.
- In the Setup Console, click Downloads. The Downloads list is expanded.
- Click Download Defaults. The Download Defaults tab is displayed.
- In the Branch list, select the branch for which any unassigned downloads will be associated. All branches in the organization are displayed in this list.
- In the Commercial Lines Downloads list, select the commercial lines department for which any unassigned downloads will be associated. All departments in the organization are displayed in this list.
- In the Personal Lines Downloads list, select the personal lines department for which any unassigned downloads will be associated. All departments in the organization are displayed in this list.
- In the Carrier Seq Rule area, select the check box to search the interface for any matching polices. If there are matching transactions that are
still in exception stage, the download will not process until the previous exceptions have been processed.
All transactions for a policy will have to be processed in numerical order according to the Carrier
Sequence ID Number.
Note: This rule does not apply to all transactions with in a specific file. This rule only applies
to individual policy transactions that have a previous download transaction that has not been
completed and still has an exception attached.
- In the New Business Exception Rule area, select the check box to force a New Business Exception when an exact policy match cannot be found in Nexsure. Then a policy to assign the download to can be manually selected.
- In the Renewal Exception Rule area, select this check box to force a Renewal Exception when an exact policy match cannot be found in Nexsure. Then a policy to assign the download to can be manually selected.
Note: When the selection of the download check box is selected and Accept on the Navigation Toolbar is clicked, the Renewal Policy will create a new version of the policy on the policies screen since it was unable to find an exact match. The option of selecting an existing policy is not available when using this function. To manually select a policy, if one exists, click the exception message and available policies will be listed.
- In the Policy Matching Criteria area, select Re-process download transactions using lenient criteria for policy matching option to bypass the exceptions when multiple policies are found. Only the latest version of the policy will be used.
Note: When selected, the Re-process download transactions... option will be applied to all carriers regardless of the selections made at the carrier level. To give carriers differing rules, do not select the global option but make selections at each carrier at SEARCH > carrier details > carrier name tab > carrier details > Carrier CD Rule option.
- In theMulti-Branch Reconciliation Option area, select Create one reconciliation for multiple branches located within a CD file. to create one reconciliation for the DB commission download, regardless of the number of branches affected.
- In theData Migration Rule area, select Migrate application data for... to first pull policy information from the application in Nexsure prior to the download.
For LOB policy downloads, when a policy comes from the carrier for download, the existing policy in Nexsure will be copied first to create the new form; schedules will not be copied. Once the carrier policy information is downloaded, the fields that the carrier sent will update the new form for the policy in Nexsure. All other information entered into the policy previously through Nexsure will remain available.
For Homeowner LOB policy downloads, when a policy comes from the carrier for download, the existing policy in Nexsure will be copied first to create the new form; including the schedules. Once the carrier policy information is downloaded, the fields that the carrier sent will update the new form for the policy in Nexsure. All other information entered into the policy previously through Nexsure will remain available.
Note: In certain circumstances, the carrier may leave some fields blank on the AL3 file. When this occurs, the blanks from the carrier will overwrite the information in the corresponding fields on the policy with those blanks.
- In the Estimated Premium Rule area, select Prevent Download updating of estimated premium to no longer update the policy info screen with the premium amount sent by the carrier in the AL3 file and so that the policy info amounts will be pulled from the existing policy following the same business rules as when the policy is manually serviced by an agency user. If this option is not selected, the download will continue to update the policy info screen with the premium amount sent by the carrier in the AL3 file.
- Once all selections have been made, click [Save].
Or
Click [Clear] to remove all selections on the Download Defaults tab.
